Sanyika the Firestarter ignites a spark for change through storytelling

“Your story has power,” said Sanyika the Firestarter, who certainly lives up to his name. Sanyika means “leader of his people” in Nigerian. “I think I start fires in people,” he said. “Story allows us to communicate. It’s the most powerful illustrator of information ever.”

And now he is lending his voice and storytelling skills to the Teddy Bear Campaign: More than I can bear. It’s the story of gun violence from the perspective of a teddy bear. “For every child lost in a school shooting, there’s a lonely teddy bear,” said Sanyika.

Don’t miss this emotionally powerful and moving message.
